We had forgotten our eternal dharma and have embraced the material culture and we were buying and reading hundreds of book searching for the eternal truth and using the spiritual knowledge for satisfying our material lust, thinking that to the eternal aim of the life.

We thought that god wanted us to become rich, beautiful, famous and enjoy life. But because of your mercy we understood the truth which was not possible to learn even after millions of years and with any amount of austerity. The power of Krishna Nama and knowledge and love of Vrindavan and the Brijvasis. You revealed to us the spiritual dham and how to enter, behave in the dham. You provided an anchor and rudder to our drowning boat. How can we forget you, how can we repay you, how can we repay your eternal debt. It not possible for fallen souls like us to measure you and repay your mercy. We can just pray to Krishna that you be our eternal Guru life after life, as Krishna has revealed us through you and you are the transparent medium through which we have tasted the Krishna prema. We can just say Jai Gurudeva, as we are not able to serve you to the best of our ability although we try still even then you are merciful on the fallen souls like us. This the mystery and power of pure devotee like you.

Srila Gurudeva, it is because of your mercy and constant guidance that I am feeling so blissful and happy now. I am so foolish that was seeking pleasure from stool instead of relishing the holy name in ecstatic bliss. You saved me from getting lost in the whirlpool of maya. You are so kind to bestow your undeserving mercy on this mleccha. My rascal mind is so cruel but I am learning the art of taming my mind to act as a good friend. Though it looks like there are millions of miles to go in this path, by your grace, I have great hope for success and the means to the goal itself is so nice and a celebration at every moment. Thank you, Srila Gurudeva, for your guidance, support and unlimited kindness on this hard hearted soul. This debt that I owe you is so great that the material debts seem so puny and trivial. You often say these words "revolutionize the planet", "pure devotional service" and "spiritual purity". I pray to you that I develop my love for Krishna and become a useful tool in spreading this wonderful and amazingly sweet Krishna Consciousness movement.

On the auspicious occasion of Vyasa Puja, we offer our obeisances due to debility in our movements; we are not able to serve, as disciples should.

Guruji you have showmen us the path to walk the spiritual path. You have shown us to do sadhana and love Krishna. Krishna is state of being. He is personification joy. We have to be a committed listener to what the guru says to grasp his teachings. If we are family sickness like any other sickness incapacitates us. The guru has divine grace. He understands the ways of the world and the law of destiny. He is a realized being simple and loving. He does not covet anything from disciples but our sins and anxieties. He is one who makes you free. He is one who delivers to freedom.

Kabir the saint sang, " If is the mercy of my guru that has made me to know the unknown ; have learned from him how to walk without feet, to see without eyes, to hear without ears to drink without mouth, to fly without wings, I have brought my love and my meditation into the land where there is no sun and moon , nor day and night.

When you are pulled towards a guru, you are pulled in words. The more you became attracted towards guru, the more you become independent. The more you surrendered to the guru, the more you feel you have freedom you never had before. The guru functions as a mediator because you cannot go directly. He will help you to be self. Without a guru fritters away our lives wondering in the winding path of ignorance we are beset with natural and man made calamities, we remain fearful and anxious and our minds and bodies suffer on account of this. The guru can lead his disciples to the vision of god. He elevates them to higher levels vidaya should be obtained by humility without humility we cannot understand the teachings of the guru.

Guruji your explanations and interpretations of Bhagavatam are enlightening us. Like Gayatri mantra, you are illuminating our lives with:

So What does the word Guru means?? In Guru Gita it is described as "dispeller of darkness"..

I was in darkness previously, trying to enjoy this material world thinking that is the way of life, and was a fool thinking in this way to enjoy Maya..

Then I got a bit interested in spiritual life, so in India there a market of so called spiritualists now days, so attended many sessions of them, but I was not satisfied..

Then I came to ISKCON, though I was involved with seva but conviction was not there but then by your mercy when I had attended your lecture in the youth forum and later your personal association, I got firm belief that this is the right path...Then I started taking Krishna Consciousness seriously...Just by your association and e-course it used to motivate me to practice Krishna consciousness more seriously..

You have shown by practical example how to engage in Krishna consciousness 24hours a day...Gurudeva by your innovative ways of spreading Krishna Consciousness have guided so many souls by your e-course all over the world and I am one of them...You have shown me the path of how to Strictly follow Srila Prabhupada's instructions and thereby develop love for Krishna.... Last year in Vrindavan serving you was the most blissful time I had and got to know more about devotional life, how apply in in our lives totally and not partially???

It gives me great joy that I am one of the lucky ones in the world to whom you have showered your mercy and accepted me as your disciple and given me the most valuable gem of Krishna bhakti...

If not for you I would be still be engaging in futile attempts to enjoy Maya and suffering in darkness...

You travel constantly, ignoring your own material comforts to bring the fallen, conditioned souls back to Godhead. You are challenged and insulted, but you remain undisturbed, defeating all challengers with the authority of shastra. You have had an attempt to run you down, a car crash, and have been arrested while spreading the bliss of Krishna consciousness throughout the world with complete faith in Lord Krishna, completely surrendered to Him. You are a pure soul that thousands throughout the world look to for guidance and knowledge. I offer my obeisances again and again to my Spiritual Master without whom I would be nothing.

Since taking shelter at your lotus feet through unexpected initiation last year, my life has changed. Within a month and a half of initiation, I was able to take shelter of the temple and am now in the Lord's service 24 hours each day. This could only have taken place through the mercy of my Spiritual Master.
On this day, your Vyasa Puja day, I pray fervently that the Lord will give you even greater facility to preach this blissful knowledge so the entire world will be awash in Krishna Consciousness.

We are very thankful for the enlightening association, the lectures, the personal service, the prasadam, and the wonderful initiation ceremony.

We did book distribution as well and for 2 days we did
7 books and preached to many young people who were interested.

On this most auspicious occasion of your transcendental appearance day, I will try to write some words in appreciation of Your Grace. Volumes upon volumes of words glorifying Your Grace written by the greatest linguists could not even begin to describe Your glories what to speak of a few words from a fallen conditioned soul like myself. 

As the years pass trying to practice Krishna consciousness, I realize more and more how completely dependent I am on You. I feel like You and Mataji are always pulling me along the pathway of Krishna consciousness. Time and time again You both do whatever it takes to pull me out of Maya and engage me in Krishna's service, yet for some reason or the other I foolishly and stubbornly keep crawling back to Maya. No matter how many times I fail at trying to serve You both or do things in an improper mood, You both are always more then willing to give me another chance. 

Your great level of compassion and tolerance for the fallen conditioned souls is beyond my comprehension. Every lava You dedicate to serving Srila Prabhupada and spreading Lord Caitanya’s mercy around the world. Every time I have the great opportunity to be in Your physical presence, I am always amazed to see how You are tirelessly working on guiding thousands and thousands of Your students at every moment. 

I sometimes wonder how a rascal like myself ever came into contact with a bona fide spiritual master, like Your Grace. Everything is due to Your mercy alone. On my own I am incapable of anything. Yet, foolishly I forget this and use whatever little independence I have improperly.

You have told me many, many times that vapuh is more important then vani. I have most recently read that by sincerely following our Spiritual Master’s instructions, the feeling of separation will be dissipated as the Spiritual Master is fully present in His instructions. Even though I am trying to follow the instructions You have given me, I still can not seem to rid myself of this intense feeling of separation from You, Guru Mata and Sri Sri Radha-Damodara. I’m guessing this is due to my endeavors lacking intensity and sincerity, as well as my improper service mood.

On this most auspicious day, I would like to try to reciprocate with You in some way for the causeless mercy You are bestowing upon me at every second. However, when searching for something that I can offer You of any worth I find I have no assets. The only thing You will accept for paying my debt, is that what You are giving me, as Srila Bhaktivinode Thakur says, Gurudeva, Your mercy is all that I am made of. In this connection You explain that trying to repay the debt we have to our Spiritual Master is like trying to repay someone you owe some money to by borrowing more money from that same person. In other words rather then resolve my debt, I become more and more indebted to You. 

All I can do is try to overcome this false pride by falling at Your lotus feet and begging for Your mercy and blessings, for without Your mercy I am nowhere and there is no hope for me. Please Srila Gurudeva, help me to overcome all these material attachments, impure motives, anarthas within my heart and help me to understand what is holding me back from fully surrendering myself unto Your lotus feet. 

Srila Prabhupada told His disciples, “You mentioned that your pathway has become filled with stumbling blocks, but there are no stumbling blocks, I can kick out all those stumbling blocks immediately, provided you accept my guidance. With one stroke of my kick I can kick out all stumbling blocks.”

Since You are Srila Prabhupada’s empowered representative, I have full confidence that You can do the same for all of us, provided we hold our end by accepting whatever guidance You give us. Please Srila Gurudeva, despite my innumerable disqualifications, please always help me to remember and implement Your instructions, and keep me engaged in Your service and safely under the shelter of Your lotus feet. Please help me to get rid of my false sense of independence and help me realize that real independence lies in surrender to the lotus feet or Sri Guru, Gauranga and the Vaishnavas.

I have come to realize the there is no difference between the initiating spiritual master and instructing spiritual master as both of them are teaching the same truth.
May Krishna give you a long healthy life, so you continue to flood the whole world with Krishna Consciousness which obviously includes a fallen soul like myself.

Dear Gurudeva,

It is the great kindness of Lord Krishna that he has led me to take shelter at your lotus feet. For years together, I was feeling left out of the stream of flowing transcendental nectar called ISKCON and you have come along and swept me up into the middle of it.

It is your kind mercy on this conditioned soul that you have given me some little service to assist you in your great mission of revolutionizing the consciousness of the planet. It is your tolerant nature that you overlook all my faults and disqualifications, even treating me sometimes as a friend and an equal, although I am by far your subordinate.

This is just in keeping with the teachings of Manu:

titiksaya karunaya maitrya cakhila-jantusu
samatvena ca sarvatma bhagavan samprasidati

“The Lord is very satisfied with His devotee when the devotee greets other people with tolerance, mercy, friendship, and equality.” SB 4.11.13


I see in my mind’s eye two hundred thousand of your spiritual descendants spread all over the globe, preaching the glories of Srila Prabhupada and Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s Movement, a thousand in each state, tasting the nectar of pure devotional service, and turning the tide of godlessness into a tidal wave of pure love of God, Krishna consciousness at it’s best.


Narada Muni, the Devarsi, Lord Nityananda, the Avaduta, Haridas Thakura, the Namacarya and Srila Prabhupada, the Jagad-guru, are all great preachers and missionaries in spreading unfailingly Krishna consciousness far and wide. In the same mood, you are prepared to travel to every nook and corner of this planet, accompanied by your exalted wife, Srimati Vishnupriya Mataji, to bring the message of good fortune and bliss in Krishna consciousness to the despairing neglected humanity.

I pray that I may be allowed to continue to assist you in your service to Srila Prabhupada, and to serve all your disciples and followers in any way that I can.

I'd like to wish a very happy appearance day/birthday to the spiritual master, Sankarshan Das Adhikari, the only one I've ever really had a chance to communicate with. I'm sorry for not making a donation so far to help out with his selfless and tireless work, I hope to do so at some point. As a musician with expensive equipment to pay for its a bit difficult right now. 

Reading his words has been a fascinating experience, and I believe he speaks from the heart as well as purely from the Vedic wisdom. But sometimes actions speak louder than words, and his actions certainly say a lot. It makes me feel like a selfish fool sometimes, but I mean that in a good way!

16 th October is a great day , The day of appearance of Sriman Sankarshan Das Adhikari. Birthday of a living spiritual master/ Guru, who is living in the Bhakti of the Lord Sree Krishna as also in service of the ignorant humans.

Today " The Master's " existence is more relevant and immensely necessary and important. The job which the Master is doing tirelessly, with full dedication selflessly , is remarkable. We need him, the present world needs him, the society at large needs him. The work he is doing is unusually difficult . The endeavor has to be constant and untiring , success may be limited but whatever extent it is , it is extremely satisfying and meaningful. No doubt there is no quick fix solution or shortcuts to the task. It is time consuming to bring about understanding in an individual, particularly in today's context when every man is looking just the other way and with innumerable attractive distractions in the illusory sensory objects diverting the attention from realities.
I wish Sriman Guruji to achieve his objective totally. I am too insignificant to say anything about Guruji, but not caring to whatever anyone may think , I humbly but with full intensity would like to express my deepest appreciation for the amazing contribution which Guruji is making to the entire humanity , silently , gradually but extremely effectively and absolutely with no personal motive. Personally I have gained considerably , realizing there is a lot more yet , I have to draw from the Guruji . I am too late in this body , there is probably no time for me. But the little I have received so far has been pure bliss, aim to be a Sadhak.

I wish the Master continue to be close to Sree Krishna like Arjuna was, to enlighten the present world where there is so much darkness , an uphill task but within easy reach and capability of " The Master "

On this great day I would like to offer a few words of thanks to His Holiness Sankarshan Das Adikari;I feel this need to do so from the core of my heart, to sing of You and praise Your Glories. It is through my previous teachers care and devotion (Titiksu Dasa and his wife Chakra Nadi Dasi) that I have now been able to come into contact with the Lotus feet of His Holiness and am now able to eventually formally take shelter there; it is therefore nor possible for me ever to repay them for enabling me to find His Holiness.
I am trying very, very hard to adhere to the path initially set out to me by Guru Maharaja and trying now to say just a few words of praise for His guidance. He has lifted the darkness of ignorance from my eyes and is enabling me to see more clearly my way forward, I feel so humbled by this, revealing my reality as it is.

My Gurudeva His Holiness Sankarshan Das Adhikari has not in the least any desire for false prestige for Himself and all the qualities for a bona fide spiritual teacher are there in Him for all to see; in all of His activities and teachings. So solely by His grace and guidance and that of His own spiritual master His Divine Grace A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and His teachers, He is now there to light the way forwards for myself and many others. He has never disregarded anybody; and His own spiritual master showed Him the way forward and many others of His disciples; by His own example and by showering the world with the light of the Bhagavad-gita,and the joy and brilliance of Lord Krishna's message contained within it; Krishna's love and enlightenment.
My Gurudeva has never disregarded anybody, He has never cheated anyone, nor ever practiced dishonesty. His actions and model of lifestyle can aptly be described through the following quotation taken from Mundaka Upanishad:

Tad vijnanartham sa gurum eba-bigachhed
Samit pani shotriyam brahma-nistham

Also in this connection the Katha Upanishad says and justly describes Gurudeva thus:

Uttisthat jagrat prapyabaran nibo-dhata dura-tvaya
Durgam pathastat kabayo badanti

O saintly ones! Cease all thoughts of material sense enjoyment. Give up all false designations and have single pointed concentration in the original self. Try to know the Lord Krishna by approaching a spiritual master (the enlightened souls) and earn their guidance and grace.
Gurudeva I wish I were there with You today maybe to help You in some small way as Your servant, in anyway I could. Today I come with my very humble offering to you Sir. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu says that renunciation is a most important thing and that such knowledge should be delivered to every conditioned being, a task you my Gurudeva is taking upon Yourself fantasticaly.As a beginner in devotional service like myself does not have the ability or knowledge yet to solve the dilema;but hopefully one day with Your continued help and guidance, I might in some way be able to help You Your Holiness and thus to honor You a little; for You are indeed Maha-Bhagavata,and You give us all direction.
My thoughts, my words and my actions are not enough to express my feelings and gratitude to You Guru Maharaga.What possibility have I to offer you anything that can in anyway match the gift you have given me?
Krishna this simple word that has been given to me, due to causeless mercy; it has now consumed my very life and now without this word I am nothing. Nor do I wish to be anything without this word Krishna. Master You now travel this very world saving us all from suffering, opening the door to Krishna for all of us to enter there in; through this very door we with one day Krishna's great mercy may one day help You to also save lost souls on this planet. The Pandava Sena is indeed a jewel in Your storehouse of unlimited treasure Your Holiness, and it is my and my brothers and sisters duty to keep polishing it for You; through my there actions, so as it remains bright for You and all to see.
I offer this small and humble offering to You Your Holiness Sankarshan Das Adhikari on Your Appearance Day, in the hope it is of some small value to You. I feel in being able to offer anything at all glorified; to do so for You Gurudeva. Moreover again I would like to thank my other teachers Titiksu Dasa and his wife Chakra Nadi Dasi, and there teachers, and most importantly His Divine Grace A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada for bringing you all to me to guide and light my way and the way of the many other lost souls; for through there help, Your example and guidance,teaching,there words and books in the past and Your and there help and example in the future. I am a very small creature to write /Talk about Sankarshan Das Adhikari Prabhu Ji. For me he is lord Krishna.
I am reading his lectures every day and I always pray god to extend his life as much as possible so that he can lift lots and lots of fallen souls to the extent possible and there by can bring krishna Consciousness to all persons in the world.

I pray lord Krishna to give Prabhu ji and Mataji more and more strength.

You are so adept at spreading this knowledge of self-realization, in the
most practical way for this time and situation. No question is too
difficult for you, and you cut to pieces our ignorance with your expert
intelligence.

In spreading Lord Caitanya's movement, you and Mataji spare no pains in
traveling wherever necessary, and undergo so many hardships in a very
enthusiastic manner. Thank you very much for enlightening us untiringly.
On the auspicious occasion of your Vyas Puja, I will quote your own
composition, as I believe you are the living representation of these
lines...

We will defeat the night by the weapon of light,
driving worng away with right,
freeing the world from fright,

Dear Guru Maharaja.
Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
All glories to you on this most auspicious day of your appearance.


I have been listening to your lectures for two years.
I have been reading your "Thought for the Day" for about a year and a
half.
I have been chanting your pranama mantra for a year.
If it were a university, it would be time to take an examination. 
Luckily you are so merciful and don't make me do that.
Because I would fail.

Actually, after two years of listening, reading and chanting there is
only one important thing I have been able to realize. I must agree - it
is not much for two years and it would not be enough to pass an exam,
but even this only one realization is much worthier for me than all the
knowledge I have attained at school, two universities and my business in
total.

One might think I am exaggerating.
But I am not.
One might think that you, Gurudev, are exaggerating every time when you
say that this knowledge is more valuable than all the money in the
Universe.
But you are not.

And I am here today to thank you for giving me this knowledge and
testify that even I, with my polluted mind, could taste a drop of this
nectar.
Let me today share this drop of nectar you have given me. The drop that
has changed my life more than anything else. Here it is:

In India there are two kinds of dogs.
The ones are the most miserable dogs you've seen in your whole life.
They are skinny, underfed and diseased.
They have wounds all over their bodies from fights they have had with
other dogs.
They are so miserable that you just want to cry when you see them.
They are called - the street dogs. The dogs that don't have masters.

But if you walk on that famous Juhu beach in Bombay where the rich men
take their morning walks, you will see the other kind of dogs - very
jolly, healthy and strong. The dogs that have masters.

One might ask: well, what's so fascinating about this parable? Even a
child can understand that having a master for a dog is much better
option than not having one.
Well, when I heard this parable for the first time last year I liked it,
but I couldn't say it impressed me. Why? Because I was listening to it
in the mood of master. Actually, it can't  be understood properly unless
one is listening to in  the mood of master.

I am quite an expert in this discipline called "think like a master".
For more than 20 years I have been considering myself as a master for my
wife, children and employees. I have been blaming them for not being
able to realize how much I care. I saw them as quite ungrateful people.
And it made me suffer.
For more than 20 years.

And then I met you Gurudev and I couldn't understand why people are
ready to accept advice and service given by you, a stranger, but reject
help given by father, mother or manager.

The answer is hidden in the viewpoint of a storyteller of this parable.
The parable can be told ether from the viewpoint of master; or dog. With
the same words two different stories can be told.
One, from the viewpoint of master, about stupid and ungrateful people;
And another one, from the viewpoint of dog, to express one's
appreciation to the master. 

I know what mood you were in when you told this story on Friday.
How do I know that?
Because once you finished it saying:
"I am a dog of Shrila Prabhupada."

On Friday when you told the parable again, all of a sudden I recalled
this sentence. Thanks to your personal example I was able to realize the
cause of all my anxieties - delusion that I am the master and protector
of somebody.

I realized that only one who is able to serve their master humbly could
become a master for other people.
I realized that only one who sees themselves as a servant is regarded as
a master by others.

You were telling us a story full of appreciation to your spiritual
master Shrila Prabhupada. This genuine love and gratitude to your
spiritual master, this pure mood of a servant of your spiritual master -
that makes people accept you as their master. 

I realized that if I do want to help other people I must give up
thinking about being more intelligent, skilful or experienced. I must
act having only one desire - to please you - my dear spiritual master.
And I must believe implicitly that it is the only way to unlimited
happiness.

Every time we meet you teach me a lesson on the art of perfect serving.
And now I know. This is the only art I care about. The only art I would
like to be master of.

Therefore I humbly beg you :
Dear Guru Maharaja, please, engage me in your service in such a way that
when my time comes to leave this body I would do it in the consciousness
of a humble dog of His Grace Sriman Sankarshan Prabhu Adhikari.

Dear Srila Gurudeva! Please accept my obeisances. All glories to Srila
Prabhupada!

Today is the most auspicious day of your Vyasa Puja. You are so near and
only two days ago I thought I could come and spend the whole day offering
you obeisances, making you flower garlands, cook sweets and do all kind of
service. But I had to be at school and work as this is my duty. Like a
loving father you haven't told me once to miss school when it is necessary
to be there.
Thats how I feel, you are like a loving father. When you were here with
Mataji and Ahaituki Bhakti, I felt like the whole family was together. I
felt so happy. I felt I had all that I needed. It is amazing how you can
give so much for so many people. You are giving me the proof that the
process Prabhupada gave, is working.  Like an ideal father you are
teaching me how things have to be done and how to make our lives perfect.
And like to a father, i can never give you as much as you are giving. But
I promise that I will carefully listen to what you are teaching and try to
live my life according to your teachings.
