'Here and Now'
We have to realize that
Krishna consciousness is here and now, actually. Mayavadis
misuse that, but Bhaktivinoda Thakura is the original
propounder of the 'Here and Now' philosophy.
He says:
Forget the past that sleeps and ne’er
The future dream at all,
But act in times that are with thee
And progress thee shall call. *
This is were the real nectar is, it's right here and it's
right now!
We're thinking, "Well, it's going to be later on when we are
at the festival..., or later on when I get this position..., later
on when I get married..., or later on when I get free from
marriage..." We're thinking it is
somewhere else...
We're not realizing it's right here and it's
right now!
We just have to really tune in and really purify our
consciousness. We have to be very introspective.
Prabhupada says, "a gentleman thinks twice before speaking
anything."
We have to very introspectively observe, "What's going on in
my mind right now?"
